Dear Friends,
I would like to cordially invite you to join us during a presentation of selected bibliophilic and beautiful books published by the Galerie Zdeněk Sklenář on the occasion of my personal participation in the Prague International Design Festival – Designblok 2016.
Zdeněk Sklenář
The interior of the c-ARK architectural object installed in the Troja Chateau courtyard (popisek k fotografii) c-ARK is both the introductory and the closing work of my solo show Jiří PŘÍHODAsochy, curated by Magdalena Juříková and organised by the Prague City Gallery at its Troja Chateau venue.
Zdeněk Sklenář is a gallerist and publisher. He lives for Art and knows that the essence of a true love for Art lies in self-perfection. For this reason, he started publishing rare prints and book in the early 1990s – to date five hundred editions covering artists such as Kupka, Boštík, Grygar, Malich, Sýkora, Merta, Kintera, Zhang Xiaogang, Wu Yi, Reynek, Qi Baishi, and others. I selected those that I personally consider to be the most valuable and invited Zdeněk Sklenář to present them. For this event, I redesigned the interior of my c-ARK, which came into being in collaboration with the Prague City Gallery.
A book is a message, a belief, a legacy for the future. I think very highly of all who make books with love, often at the cost of sacrifice, and I believe that this activity carried out by Zdeněk Sklenář will never be forgotten.
