Photography is an essential bearer of information, it is able to document truthfully, as well as dangerously manipulate everything. Its discovery robbed painting of its unique ability to capture reality and thus freed painting from the real – it could therefore focus on light, fog and opinion. Once I realized this, the creation of my photograms took off.
