Ľudovít Fulla: The Annunciation, The Ascension, Christ’s Birth in Bethlehem
22. 11. 2020 – 16. 1. 2021
The discovery of any previously unknown work by Ľudovít Fulla (1902–1980) is always an exceptional moment and a true reason to rejoice. To mark the start of Advent and the approaching Christmas holidays, Galerie Zdeněk Sklenář is pleased to offer a unique experience to the public and all art lovers: three paintings the artist originally dedicated to his two younger sisters, Valéria and Etela. The three watercolours – The Annunciation, The Ascension, and Christ’s Birth in Bethlehem – were made one following another in the early 1940s and became the models for the three eponymous paintings with New Testament motifs. The three detailed paintings gleam with gold and vermilion like precious gemstones.
