Václav Boštík: Juvenilia. Never before shown works from the artist's early period

5. 5. – 11. 6. 2022

As a part of the exhibition David Hanvald 2021–2022, which presents the current work of the young artist, Galerie Zdeněk Sklenář would also like to call attention to some now-classic works that were made more than fifty years ago. These include some rare and unique works made by Václav Boštík in his youth, such as his Self-Portrait, which he executed in charcoal in 1934. Visitors will also have the chance to take another look at one of the gallery’s important special editions –an album of five serigraphs by Zdeněk and Lenka Sýkora, published under the title Flying two years after the installation of the eponymous murals in the new building of the Air Navigation Service of the Czech Republic in Jeneč in 2005. It was this particular event that linked the two artists with David Hanvald, both artistically and personally, as he was one of the students involved in the realisation of the project.
