Bohuslav Reynek: BIBLE

In 2014, Richard Fuxa and Zdeněk Sklenář initiated the publication of the Bible with artwork by Bohuslav Reynek. This venture brought untold joy, particularly to Jiří and Daniel Reynek – the sons of the immortal artist. Together with other admirers of Reynek’s art, they welcomed it in that same year together with the exhibition: Reynek: A genius we were supposed to forget, which was held at the Waldstein Riding School in Prague. The magnificent graphic design is the work of Zdeněk Ziegler, Aleš Najbrt, and Marek Pistora and the book was published by Euromedia Group.
On the occasion of the 130th anniversary of Bohuslav Reynek’s birth, we are commemorating this publication, which is a part of the history of Czech book production.
The exhibition is accompanied by a rare, never-before-seen, collection of four original photographs by Vladimír Židlický (*1945), who photographed Bohuslav Reynek and left us with a precious memento.
