Václav Boštík 1913…2005

The catalogue was published to accompany the eponymous retrospective exhibition held from 15 October 2010 to 9 January 2011 at the Prague City Gallery. The show presented a cross-section of Boštík’s oeuvre from the 1930s to the 1990s and mapped the entire course of his artistic development from realistic paintings to abstract art, which, for the artist, represented an analogy of the order of the cosmos. Karel Srp’s text tracks the individual phases of Boštík’s paintings, supplemented with an overview of biographical information.
