Karel Malich, Milan Grygar, Vladimír Kopecký, Jan Merta, Jiří Kovanda, Josef Pleskot, Federico Díaz, Lukáš Jasanský/Martin Polák, Krištof Kintera, Rafani – ten shining contemporary prodigies stretching across all generations and genres: painting, sculpture, glass, architecture, performance and new media.
Contemporary art does not remain in a realm outside of social and technological progress. It is clear that strong individuals, who often push this progress down revolutionary paths, play a critical role. The exhibition Shining Moon Fresh Wind.cz, subtitled Ten Shining Contemporary Prodigies Stretching Across All Generations, presented ten exceptional artists and art groups whose creativity and intellectual potential meet the strictest criteria placed on contemporary art not only in the Czech Republic, but also on the international stage. These artists often compose visually complex forms to which spectators are not accustomed.
This catalogue was published in conjunction with the eponymous exhibition organised as a collaborative effort between Galerie Zdeněk Sklenář and the Miroslav Kubík Gallery, which was held at the Miroslav Kubík Gallery in Litomyšl from 17 June to 19 August 2012. Zdeněk Sklenář came up with the concept for this show.
