Lao-tsï – Tao–tek–king / Krištof Kintera

The fourth and, for now at least, last volume in the illustrated Czech Laozi series, consisting of important Czech translations of the Dao De Jing, presents the original translation of this famous text made by Rudolf Dvořák in 1920 as illustrated by Krištof Kintera. This edition of the Dao De Jing / Laozi’s Canon of Reason and Virtue, was published on the occasion of Kintera’s solo exhibition Neuropolis, which was held at Galerie Zdeněk Sklenář from 25 August to 7 November 2020. The cover of all 1,000 copies has an original illustration by Krištof Kintera, and these first 100 copies are numbered 1/100–100/100 and signed by the artist. The book is dedicated to Professor Oldřich Král (1930–2018), who was in charge of the publication of this volume and who would have celebrated his ninetieth birthday on 13 September 2020.
The creative concept is based on the fine press edition of TAO, which Galerie Zdeněk Sklenář published in 2015 in a print run of sixty-four copies, each of which contains original artwork by Krištof Kintera.
